dc.description.abstract The growth dynamics of gas bubbles in an infinite and pure gas-saturated medium has been modeled to analyze decompression procedures. Based on the pressure of dissolved gas, surface tension of gas/liquid interface and diffusion, the gas volume remaining in the bubble distribution follows from the ambient pressure-time relationship. Several previously proposed bubble nuclei distributions have been tried as input to decompression procedures in use and the gas volume of bubbles are compeared to pressure-time changes which minimize that volume. Saturation decompression procedures as well as excursion tables have been studied. The model predicts that the final part of the decompression should be prolonged as compared to current practice. en
